SCBWI Australia Membership

The annual cost is US$75. The easiest way to pay is by credit card and let Visa or MasterCard work out the currency exchange problems. Current exchange rate is about 95 cents to the US dollar. Please note Associate membership is for unpublished members and Full membership is for published members.

From here you can complete the information and join online through our secure server using Visa or Mastercard. You might prefer to complete the form and then post your payment (in a bank cheque or postal order in US$) direct to our USA office at:

When you join SCBWI, you automatically become a member of the Australian chapter as well as the international organization. 

From Executive Office you will receive a packet that includes:

  • The SCBWI Publications Guide to Writing and Illustrating for Children. Information about books and publishing is now at your fingertips; including information on Copyright facts, and guides to USA publishers and agents. This book is terrific information for writers and illustrators just beginning their adventure in the land of children’s book publishing
  • A membership roster with contact details for members worldwide
  • The latest copy of The SCBWI Bulletin – the bi-monthly publication from the executive office.

With your membership you also receive discounts to SCBWI events worldwide and an invitation to the annual Australian SCBWI conference, eligibility for awards and financial grants, and access to member only publications on the international site.

Here in Australia when we receive notification that you have joined you will then be added to our mailing lists and receive e-newsletter updates and further information that is specifically for our Australian members.

Australian SCBWI members also receive a huge range of resources and information including:

  • Australian email newsletters and updates on markets, current trends in publishing and news of events both here and overseas
  • Invitations to events both nationally and internationally
  • A quarterly magazine full of the latest USA information
  • The international e-news Expression Online with news from around the world
  • Links to Australian specific resources including publishers and associations
