Comments

Bounder & Beaky love Manila and are soooo looking forward to returning there. They didn't get out of the conference venue much to see the sights ... but they did view a private screening of Slumdog Millionaire which is based on the book Q&A by Vikas Swarup (India) and then listen to Vikas talk about the book and the film. At the festival they heard sessions on poetry; creating adaptations; as well as stories and tales from many Filipino writers, talking about new and emerging forms of literature.

Bounder & Beaky also visited a Filipino-Chinese School, the Immaculate Conception Academy and were so thrilled with the response to their visit. And there is a small but very active SCBWI chapter there and Bounder & Beaky were delighted to brunch with Nikki (ARA) and talk about all things SCBWI. They send get well wishes to the RA Beulah.

The traditional foods enjoyed by Bounder & Beaky were replaced with Filipino delicacies which were a real treat (and teh mango juice was luscious) ... and it seems not to have harmed their diets at all.
